My primary painting style is abstract and I create my work using a mixture of imagination, instinct and raw emotion. Built up over a period of hours and days, subtle and diffused layers are offset by bold, dynamic gestural marks giving my work a real sense of movement, energy and vitality.

Natural forms and elements heavily influence my work. I rarely paint directly from a subject and generally create from a recalled imagining of colours, forms and the remembered emotional response they invoke.

There is a vibrancy to my use of colours which is paired with a sense of light giving my work a luminosity and uplifting energy.

Reminiscent of those ethereal moments when vision is obscured but abstracted elements of colour, form and movement remain, there is a joyful vitality and expressiveness to my work.
