FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHAT MATERIALS DO YOU USE TO CREATE YOUR ARTWORK?
I use high quality professional acrylic paints and acrylic mediums on gallery stretched cotton canvas. I use a fairly minimal range of painting tools, mainly consisting of flat brushes and a catalyst wedge – a silicone wedge-shaped tool which I use to move the paint around to create textural and intuitive marks.
CAN I COMMISSION CUSTOM ARTWORK?
Sadly no. Because my painting style is free and unplanned I find it very hard to create and emulate another persons vision. I can, however, create an artwork to a specific colour pallet, size and shape although this will be in my own creative vision and style. CAN YOU RECREATE A PREVIOUS ARTWORK?
Each piece of original artwork is just that – an original – so I don’t recreate any past work. I can create something with a similar colour palette, style or composition. You can contact me at kristie@kristielawtonart.co.uk to discuss further if this is something you would like.
IS MY ARTWORK READY TO HANG?
I paint the edges of all of my canvases so they can be hung as they are. I don’t provide or install hanging hardware as many of my artworks can be hung in different orientations, so I leave this decision to the buyer. You will therefore need to purchase and install gallery wire and a hook to hang. Alternatively some people prefer a framed look which can be achieved by taking the artwork to an art framer who can discuss options and styles with you.
CAN I RETURN MY ARTWORK?
I want all my customers to be happy with their artwork. If for any reason you are unhappy with your purchase, please contact me within 5 days of delivery and you can send the artwork back. Please note that buyers are responsible for the shipping costs of any returned items. The artwork must be in the same condition as it arrived and in appropriate packaging – ideally the original packaging it was shipped in.
CAN I PAY IN A CURRENCY OTHER THAN GBP?
No, I’m afraid I only accept payment in GBP (£ Sterling).
CAN I COLLECT MY ARTWORK IN PERSON?
Of course, you can arrange to collect your artwork from me directly in Sheffield, UK. I would need to receive full payment before collection is made.
