How do you use cookies and other tracking tools?
A cookie is a small file that is placed on your computer's hard drive. The file contains an identifier (a string of letters and numbers) that is sent by a web server to a web browser and is stored by the browser. The identifier is then sent back to the server each time the browser requests a page from the server.
Cookies are either "persistent" or "session" cookies:
-
Persistent cookies are stored by a web browser and will remain valid until a set expiry date, unless deleted by the user before the expiry date.
-
Session cookies will expire at the end of the user session, when the web browser is closed.
I use both session and persistent cookies on our Website.
Cookies do not typically contain any information that personally identifies a user, but personal information that we store about you may be linked to the information stored in and obtained from cookies.
Overall, cookies help provide you with a better Website, by enabling me to monitor which pages you find useful and which you do not. A cookie in no way gives me access to your computer or any information about you, other than the data you choose to share with me.
If you opt to receive marketing emails from me, you agree that I have your permission to track your activity via cookies, pixels, and other similar technologies to enable me to measure the effectiveness of our campaigns and customise the products that are presented to you in marketing emails. You agree that we can transfer the information related to this tracking to my email marketing provider.
You can choose to accept or decline cookies. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies if you prefer.
